Mirage To Close July 2024 For The Hard Rock Rebranding Coming 2027!

2024 marked 35 years for The Mirage Hotel And Casino! Beloved for its outdoor volcano show, “LOVE” by Cirque Du Soleil and other attractions, will temporarily close its doors July 17 to transition into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas, officials said today.
The rebranded Hard Rock resort is said to feature a nearly 700-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower, and will double the current number of jobs at the property. They are aiming for a spring 2027 opening.
The renovation will generate over 2,000 construction jobs alone, and Hard Rock will pay approximately $80 million in severance packages for eligible union and non-union employees remaining with the property through the pause in operations.
Hard Rock International, which owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, purchased the 65 acre Mirage property from MGM Resorts International in 2022, as part of a more than $1 billion cash transaction.
According to the Mirage’s website, its longtime tenant Cirque Du Soleil show will close July 6, and other resident shows will close July 14.
Hard Rock Las Vegas is expected to have close to 7,000 team members, according to the website.
This marks the second hotel and casino closure on the Strip after The Tropicana Las Vegas shuttered in April, just shy of its 67th anniversary.
The closure of the old-school Sin City landmark was set to make way for a potential $1.5 billion Major League Baseball stadium deal with Oakland A’s owner John Fisher.
